As a boxing amateur, Jay Paul Molinere participated in 30 fights and won various titles. In 2008, he won the Golf Coast Boxing Championship. In 2009 he won the Golden Gloves Division Championship and won the Arnold Sports Championship in Columbus, Ohio, in 2010.

The injury was so severe that it sent him to a three-day coma. The doctors thought he would never be normal again, but God had other plans for him; he was lucky enough to have healed completely.
